Ninetenth Century Antique Sofa Table

A very fine early 19th century sofa table, this table is made from two very expensive timbers, with coromandal cross banding and a huge swathe of amboyna on top, there can be few better ways to confer absolute poshness to any room setting. This table is free standing with false drawers to the reverse which means that it is a very useful piece being able to be used behind sofa, as a writing table or as a side table against a wall. The proportions are perfect the colour is wonderful and the timber is to die for. A truly fantastic table which must have been made for a very grand house indeed.
